Your 50 minutes of Math Lab/Vocab time this afternoon will be broken into two "chunks". The substitute teacher will prompt you when it is time to switch from the Vocabulary activity to the Math Lab activity for today.
Vocabulary/Word Study first!
Your vocabulary task today is a "cut and sort". I have created a short video to talk you through directions for this activity, so that we're all clear on expectations (see below). Please watch this video with headphones on, and then get a paper from the horseshoe table and get to work.

Then, when you're told it is time to switch activities, it's time for Math Lab!
We will be spending the next few weeks reviewing what you learned about Hands On Equations in fifth grade.
Even if you believe that you are a Hands On Equations expert, you are expected to watch my "HOE" videos in their entirety. (No one is "too cool" for HOE.) Some of the things we do with "HOE" in sixth grade is different from fifth grade, and we need to all be on the same page...even when the problems seem easy.
Please watch the video below with headphones on.
Then, get a Hands On Equations Notes & Work Space sheet and a Hands On Equations, Lesson 1 worksheet from the horseshoe table and get to work.
Bags of Hands On Equations pieces are in our "math tubs".
